Drawing Process- Procreate
1. Inspiration:
-
I base the theme of a certain topic from my inspiration
-
I also search google for color pallets and combos that I may like.
For the example I used a mixture of videos (TikTok), songs, and stories based on fictional diseases.
My main source of inspiration came from this song which drove me to choose my overall theme.

2. Theme:
-
I base the theme of a certain topic from my inspiration
-
I also search google for color pallets and combos that I may like.
For the example I used the song about losing a lover and my reading inspiration to come across the fictional Star Tear Disease.
The theme of Star Tears Disease immediately made me think about space and goddesses so i based my color pallet on a galaxy.
3. Pose and Reference:
-
I search through photo references to find a good pose
-
I also use models to create a specific pose that I like
4. Sketch and Line Art
-
I sketch out the basic look and some details
-
After sketching I do my line art and extra detail lines
-
In order to keep track of my line size I put the sizing on a separate layer in the top corner of the canvas
Sketching: Procreate Pencil Line Art: Studio Pencil

5. Coloring
-
After coloring I will over- line the existing line art with darker versions of the colors
-
When coloring skin colors I like to use a darker skin tone
-
I like to use the lightest colors with accents
Brushes: Round Brush, Studio Pen, Soft Airbrush, Soft Brush, Haze Long Galaxy Brush
6. Extras
-
I add the accents that I didn't have in the initial sketch and line art
Brushes: Studio Pen, Haze Long Star Brush
-
In order to get the transparent tear look I use the Soft Light layer effect
7.Highlights and Shadows
-
Depending on the theme of the image I like to either put harsh highlights or harsh shadow
-
When doing highlights I put a color overlay over the picture and the background
-
The overlay gives me vibrant colors and adds more life when I add my highlights and shadows
Brushes: Soft Airbrush, Haze Long Galaxy Brush
